Business Process Analyst

We are NSW’s bulk water supplier, river operator and your one-stop shop for licensing, water trades and water information.  We supply two thirds of water used in NSW from our 42 dams, rivers and pipelines to regional towns, irrigators, Sydney Water and local water utilities. We also own and operate the largest surface and groundwater monitoring network in the southern hemisphere and build, maintain and operate essential infrastructure.

We are looking for an experienced Business Process Analyst to support the future operation of WaterNSW by helping our leaders and subject matter experts define a standardised baseline of operational business processes to enable us to continuously improve the way we deliver services to our customers and stakeholders.

In your new role you will:

  • Facilitate virtual teams to analyse, integrate, redesign and document processes across the business in accordance with the WaterNSW business process structure and content standards.
  • Advise business process owners ensuring the development of concise and mutually acceptable business processes that support and align to our organisational and strategic goals.
  • Continually review and establish solutions that meet business needs and optimise outcomes by adding value through capitalizing on opportunities and synergies.

 We are looking for: 

  • Well-developed presentation and workshops facilitation experience
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Excellent relationships building and influencing skills , with an ability to build consensus where subject matter experts’ opinions differ to achieve outcomes
  • Experience with Problem solving techniques (i.e. Root cause analysis)
  • Continuous improvement tools and techniques (i.e. Lean, Six Sigma)
  • Business process management (BPM) tools and techniques (Process Development)
  • Basic project management skills (Planning and task management)

    Other favourable requirements include:
  • Your experience will also include a demonstrated ability to manage change resistance and the practical application of change management techniques to achieve commitment. Your demonstrated ability to meet agreed milestones in an environment where business units need to re-prioritise effort to respond to emerging issues will be highly favourable.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Finance or similar business discipline; or relevant equivalent experience;
  • Training and experience in using any of the major business process management platforms, i.e. Holocentric, Tibco, Oracle BPM, etc.
  • Experience working for any of the major consulting firms (i.e. PWC, EY, KPMG, Deloitte, Accenture, etc.) as a business or process analyst
  • Experience as a technical Writer documenting processes in a consistent and clear manner.
