The successful candidate will be responsible for providing leadership to a technical team of Water Planning & Delivery Specialists and Officers aligning day to day operations and supporting systems to deliver water to customers and to optimise system yield.

What you’ll do: 

  • Oversee the development and implementation of water supply operations plans/programs that ensure that delivery systems are configured and operated to meet water quality and quantity needs of customers, stakeholders, and regulators.
  • Lead the identification of business improvement strategies for enhanced operational performance and drive delivery of the implementation by other team members.
  • Manage the development and implementation of water assessment models, operations plans, monitoring, and reporting programs that underpin well informed outcomes on system configuration that maximise efficient & continuous delivery of supply.
  • Direct operations of water infrastructure during significant events including floods and water quality incidents in line with approved operating protocols to minimize risk to assets and the downstream communities.
  • Maintain strategic relationships with major customers and stakeholders and manage the business unit’s compliance with relevant legal obligations, regulations and standards.

What we are looking for:  

  • Experience in operating at a senior management level in a complex, geographically dispersed, and varied business environment.
  • Proven experience in leading a large, multidisciplinary team with technical skills and knowledge.
  • Detailed knowledge in managing water supply operations in both normal and abnormal conditions (incident mode).
  • Experience in overseeing operational delivery and project delivery, including managing change processes.
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant engineering/science discipline.
  • Current NSW Drivers Licence.
