What you’ll do:    

  • Assist in developing project commercial structure with the project teams in the early development and procurement phases. Ensure effective timing of providing the required contractual and commercial deliverables needed for each project. 
  • Assist in supporting contractual and commercial negotiations and where applicable, coordinate with legal services or procurement representatives, and report on negotiation status to the Commercial Manager.
  • Oversee that the commercial contract administration and direction for each project is functioning appropriately and support continuous improvement of contract management processes and tools.
  • Monitor, control, and report on the commercial performance including financial, contractual, administration risks and potential disputes on contracts.
  • Identify commercial risks and opportunities and address them in a timely manner.
  • Ensure that WaterNSW payment obligations to external parties comply with Building Security Payment Act timings to avoid claims exposure for WaterNSW.
  • Administer contracts within WaterNSW portfolio, manage monthly payment claims in accordance with Security of Payment Act (SOPA), assessment of variations, review monthly report submissions, assist in KPI reviews and other ad-hoc commercial matters.

 

What we are looking for:

  • Tertiary qualification in Commercial, Finance or Project Management discipline or related discipline
  • Minimum 6 years’ professional experience in commercial management / contract administrator roles (preferably in asset-based projects)
  • Experience in delivering a commercial role within a team to meet program, project and organisational objectives. 
  • Demonstrated experience managing project cost, and risk whilst meeting stated objectives and project goals. Experience in the NSW government procurement guidelines through delivery of large projects or programs.
  • Proven experience engaging with key internal and external stakeholders to identify needs, address issues and ensure objectives are understood and met.
  • Experience in negotiating and influencing outcomes including successful management of contractual disputes.
  • Demonstrated capability in commercial roles in delivery of large-scale infrastructure programs with knowledge of contract management, financial and risk acumen, negotiation and tender evaluation procedures.
  • Current NSW Drivers Licence
