Location:
Parramatta is the preferred location for the role, however we are open to considering to have the candidate based in Tamworth or any of our core regional offices.

What you’ll do: 

  • Lead the development, implementation and continuous improvement of Water Quality Management System (WQMS) Frameworks to meet business requirements and comply with Australian Drinking Water Guidelines (ADWG) or any requirements specified by NSW Health. 

  • Provide specialist technical advice and support across WaterNSW to deliver water quality management policies, strategies, plans and standards and produce reporting required under the Water Quality System and regulatory requirements. 

  • Manage the delivery of assurance activities (such as system audits & system health checks) of the WQMS and processes to ensure continued compliance with the Water Quality Policy and Operating Licence(s), including management oversight of external consultants delivering co-sourced internal audits. 

  • Undertake extensive engagement with stakeholders, customers and regulators to develop relevant WQMS supporting documentation & support its implementation and manage the adherence to these activities across the business. 

  • Ongoing review of systems and frameworks to drive optimisation of WQMS and associated reporting, e.g., automation, accuracy, adequacy of indicators


What we are looking for: 
 

  • Tertiary qualification in engineering, science or a related discipline or equivalent experience, with significant experience working in the development of supporting and/or implementation of documentation related to Drinking water quality management, including monitoring programs, procedures, risk assessments, incident reporting and investigations, etc. 

  • In depth knowledge of ADWG and other NSW regulatory requirements for the management of potable water supplies, from catchment to customer.

  • Significant exposure and understanding of drinking Quality Management Systems and the requirements of the Australian Drinking Water Guidelines.

  • Sound understanding of the water industry sector, work practices and systems relevant to drinking water supply

  • Strong administrative and self-management skills, including the ability to work to deadlines and resolve challenges quickly and professionally, with extensive Stakeholder engagement experience
