Lead Project Manager - Long Duration Storage Program (24 month term)

What you’ll do: 

  • Leadership: delivering strategic priorities and developing the culture, capability and performance of the project team including the part time Subject Matter Experts.
  • Deliver: the project strategy, objectives and deliverables within the time, cost and quality requirements.
  • Ensure project is delivered in line with internal project governance arrangements, control project scope and liaise with business sponsors in relation to scope change.
  • Project Management: Accountable for project performance (including financial, contractual, WHS, quality and environmental); risks and issues; and physical progress of projects against the approved project plan.
  • Manage external and internal stakeholders and assist in the preparation of communications plans and strategies; including external community and public consultation processes, planning approval processes and provide advice to Management on key external risks and issues.
  • Lead the procurement, negotiation and ongoing management of contracts for consulting, construction and any other externally provided services required for the delivery of the project.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and where agreed lead the implementation of improvements in project delivery across the business.

 

What we are looking for:  

  • Tertiary qualifications in engineering disciplines or equivalent experience in project management; and
  • Current NSW Drivers Licence
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and practical application of project management frameworks based on either PMBOK or Prince 2.
  • Understanding of regulatory and planning requirements as they relate to infrastructure projects.
  • Proven ability to manage a range of different stakeholders and their potentially conflicting needs to obtain agreement on actions and outcomes.
  • Strong commercial acumen to identify benefits, opportunities and trade-offs to be made when preparing and executing business cases, project plans and contract management.
  • 10+ years in leading multi-disciplinary teams with experience in planning, design and/or construction delivery within the infrastructure and utilities sectors.
  • Experience in project development (preferably in the water or electricity generation sectors).
  • Ability to identify, assess and proactively manage various project risks across the project lifecycles.
  • Experience in preparing and delivering complex business cases for project approval.
  • Experience in successfully managing stakeholder engagements and relationships to deliver desired outcomes efficiently and effectively.
  • Negotiating and influencing skills with a demonstrable track record of achieving beneficial outcomes for the business.
