Location: Parramatta (preferred) but also open to having the preferred candidate to be based anywhere in New South Wales where we have a WaterNSW office
 
Salary: Starting from $150,332 base + super
 
Tenure: Full-Time, Permanent
 

What we are looking for:

  • A strong desire to contribute your skills and expertise to our business 

  • Someone who is of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander decent / identifies as an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander and is accepted as such by the community in which they were born, has lived or currently lives 

  • A commitment to promoting and preserving Aboriginal culture and value 

  • Bachelor degree or higher in Civil Engineering, or other related engineering discipline as deemed appropriate

  • 5+ years of experience in dams engineering, with proven experience in developing & implementing risk management methods, tools and frameworks
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of dam and weir design, construction, operation, safety surveillance and maintenance

  • Knowledge of principles and practices of dam design, construction, operation, safety surveillance and maintenance

  • Experience in dam design, construction, operation and maintenance and in the safety evaluation of existing dams

  • Favourable: Working knowledge of ISO 31000 and risk management industry best practices

What you will work on: 

  • Lead the development and implementation of the Dam Safety Risk Methodology (Methodology) in accordance with the Dam Safety Management Systems (DSMS) and the WaterNSW Risk Framework (Framework)

  • Develop and implement the processes and procedures that underpin this Methodology in accordance with the DSMS., ensuring the understanding and commitment of relevant personnel on dam safety risk management initiatives

  • Manage and coordinate the delivery of dam safety risk management activities in accordance with the DSMS, including risk identification, analysis and evaluation, reporting

  • Monitor, evaluate and improve dam safety risk management processes to improve capabilities and performance in risk identification, reporting and controls

  • Collaborate with other corporate risk management team and other stakeholders to ensure the seamless delivery and management of dam safety risk processes
