Location: Parramatta
Salary: Starting from $131,851 base + super
Tenure: Full-Time, 24 Months Max Term
What we are looking for:
A strong desire to contribute your skills and expertise to our business
Someone who is of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander decent / identifies as an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander and is accepted as such by the community in which they were born, has lived or currently lives
A commitment to promoting and preserving Aboriginal culture and value
Bachelor degree or higher tertiary institution in civil, mechanical or electrical engineering, or demonstrated equivalent relevant experience
Experience managing the engineering and design aspects of multidiscipline infrastructure projects or managing a section of a larger project
Demonstrated experience in coordinating and facilitating meetings / workshops to devise appropriate solutions to technical challenges through evaluation of options
Ability to interpret, assess and review engineering designs, drawings and construction or other work methodologies to ensure compliance with standards and to meet required objectives
Experience working collaboratively and making decisions with stakeholders to review, analyse, negotiate and implement technical solutions
Nice to Have: Experience in heavy civil engineering or electricity generation (particularly hydro-power) projects and / or knowledge of similar asset base to WaterNSW such as dams, water regulating structures, bridges roads, canals, embankments, buildings and cranes etc.

What you will work on:
Drive the development and implementation of technical/engineering solutions on behalf of the project manager
Managing the identification of solution options and selection of preferred or recommended options to meet project needs, including assessment of associated capital and operational costs and ensuring that key stakeholders are involved in decision-making
Overseeing the project design process ensuring all relevant engineering specifications and standards are met, and appropriate inspection and test planning is in place
Manage specific elements of the project allocated by the project manager to achieve time, cost and quality objectives. This includes the management of scope and risk
Assurance: Provide oversight and assurance of design processes during development of options, concept and detailed design and ensure relevant WaterNSW specific engineering specifications, standards and management systems are met
About the Renewable Energy Program Team:
WaterNSW operates the state’s dams, capturing and storing water, and then supplying it ready for distribution – for the environment, agriculture, industry and the community. With 41 major dams and hundreds of waterways across the state, we play a vital role at the source of the state’s water, delivering two thirds of all water used in NSW.
