Expressions of Interest – Project Delivery Managers – Greater Sydney Region 
 

WaterNSW is enhancing its operations in the Greater Sydney region and is inviting highly experienced Project Delivery Managers with backgrounds in Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering to apply for upcoming opportunities in 2024.  

This is an opportunity to build and manage a high performing team of Project Managers to ensure the successful delivery of asset renewal projects within the portfolio. 

 

Preferred location is in Parramatta, but we are open to any location in NSW.

What you’ll do:   

  • Supporting the deployment of project management and, project engineering resources to provide timely and efficient project delivery across the portfolio. 
  • Managing and supporting the Asset Renewals and Replacement program management structure and commercial management framework inclusive of the procurement framework.     
  • Ensuring Projects are being delivered efficiently and in accordance with the project management framework, that team members accurately report progress, risks, issues, incidents and performance of their projects and have robust action plans in place to manage any deviations.  
  • Ensuring that team members are trained, competent and using corporate processes, systems and templates for the management of their projects along with the development of team including coaching and mentoring enhance the skills and capability of the team. 
  • Developing effective working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including gauging levels of satisfaction with services provided and developing options for improvement, including being the initial point of escalation for resolution of disputes with contractors.  
  • Identifying and addressing project performance issues and implement recovery options and more broadly identify and lead continuous improvement programs and upskilling including amongst contractors. 

 


What we are looking for:  

  • Tertiary qualification in Project Management, or relevant Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering discipline or related discipline. 
  • Ideally bringing 10 years’ professional experience in project management (preferably in asset-based projects but not essential)  
  • Experience in leading a team of technical staff through all aspects of change, providing coaching and mentoring to aid their development and to ensure effective delivery of services.  
  • Demonstrated people leadership skills in the management, mentoring and coaching of a high performing project management team.    
  • Proven experience engaging with key internal and external stakeholders to identify needs, address issues and ensure objectives are understood and met.  
  • Experience in negotiating and influencing outcomes including successful management of contractual disputes.
