Parramatta is the preferred location but open to considering the Hunter Hub, Nepean Dam, Albury, Dubbo or Tamworth.

What you’ll do:

  • Coordinating the development and implementation of dam safety emergency preparedness and response plans for LWUs (Local Water Utilities), assisting them with regulatory compliance, as well as ensuring laws and regulations are incorporated and interpreted into all aspects of training.
  • Reviewing and updating dam emergency plans for LWUs, to ensure the LWU meets legislative compliance requirements.
  • Designing and facilitating dam safety emergency exercises for LWUs in accordance with legislative compliance requirements.
  • Assisting the WaterNSW Dam Safety Emergency Management team in the delivery of activities to ensure WaterNSW’s continued compliance with Dam Safety Emergency Preparedness regulatory requirements, including the review and update of Dam Emergency Plans and the facilitation of Dam Safety Emergency Exercises.
  • Conducting activities in support of WaterNSW Incident Management Teams during real-world responses to incidents and emergencies.
  • Actively participating in the project meetings, manage reporting requirements and tasks to ensure delivery of specific project and program requirements.

 

What we are looking for: 

  • Relevant qualifications in emergency management or a related field and/or demonstrated relevant experience
  • Certificate IV Training and Assessment and/or demonstrated relevant experience.
  • Experience in emergency and incident management and/or business continuity management.
  • Knowledge of current federal and state laws, ordinances, regulations, established procedures, approved principles, practices and organization of emergency management and business continuity work to ensure compliance and best practice.
  • Knowledge of Incident Management Systems and relevant incident command procedures and methods, including emergency support functions, integration of entities into incident management, and roles and responsibilities in incident management, ideally with knowledge of:
    • AS3745 – Planning for Emergencies in Facilities
    • AS/NZS5050 – Business Continuity – Managing Disruption Related Risk
    • ISO22301 – Societal Security – Business Continuity Management Systems
  • Current NSW Drivers Licence
