What you’ll do: 

  • Lead the development and rollout of the Operational Resilience Framework, including strategy, roadmap, governance, and operating model.
  • Ensure resilience initiatives, activities and processes are aligned with WaterNSW’s regulatory obligations and standards (e.g. WaterNSW Act, SOCI Act, ISO 22301, Dam Safety Regulations, AESCSF), and internal risk and compliance frameworks.
  • Promote consistent use of the Operational Resilience Framework across various resilience domains such as vendor and third-party risk, cybersecurity, physical security, dam safety, asset management and water delivery operations.
  • Work with teams to deliver resilience initiatives by setting service levels and recovery plans and ensuring systems are in place to meet them these objectives effectively.
  • Develop impact assessments and plans for business continuity, disaster recovery, cybersecurity, and other risks, and oversee regular testing to improve resilience.
  • Coordinate emergency response activities with internal teams and agencies, ensure clear communication, advise leadership on crisis planning, and review incidents to support recovery and improvement.
  • Contribute to the development of governance structures and reporting mechanisms on operational resilience ensuring that they align with standards, best practices and expectations of the regulators, Board and executive leadership team.


What we are looking for: 
 

  • Tertiary qualification in Business Administration or Engineering or Computing or a related discipline.
  • Working knowledge of SOCI ACT, AS3745 – Planning for Emergencies in Facilities, AS/NZS5050 – Business Continuity – Managing Disruption Related Risk, ISO22301 – Business Continuity Management Systems, Cybersecurity framework such as AESCF.
  • Exceptional communication, relationship-building, and project management capabilities, demonstrated through effective collaboration and consultation with regulators, industry bodies and internal stakeholders.
  • Strong history of preparing and delivering reports to executive leadership teams, Board Audit & Risk Committees, and regulatory bodies, with the ability to distil complex information into actionable recommendations.
  • Current NSW Drivers Licence.
