What you’ll do: 

  • Develop, maintain and enforce data governance policies, standards and procedures to ensure consistency, integrity and compliance across data assets.
  • Perform triage of incoming data requests and data issues and ensure correct categorisation, routing and prioritisation so they are handled by the appropriate teams.
  • Collaborate with data stewards, data owners, analysts, IT, and business stakeholders to ensure data definitions, lineage and metadata are documented and understood.
  • Support implementation and maintenance of tools and technologies for metadata management, data catalogues, data profiling / quality control.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant legislation/regulation (e.g. GIPA), internal policies, and data sharing agreements. 
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of data governance maturity, including training, awareness raising, and embedding governance practices throughout the organization.


What we are looking for: 
 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field e.g. Information Management, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks relevant to data sharing, privacy, and access in NSW (e.g. GIPA, privacy legislation).
  • Strong understanding of data governance frameworks, standards, and best practices (e.g. DAMA-DMBOK, metadata management, data lifecycle management).
  • Extensive experience working in data governance, data quality, or data management roles, ideally including leadership or senior contributor experience.
  • Current NSW Drivers Licence.
