What you’ll do: 

 

  • Design, Build, and Maintain Data Pipelines: Develop, implement, and support scalable and reliable  data pipelines and architectures on the Azure platform, including the use of CI/CD processes.
  • Data Modeling and Management: Create and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models, manage metadata and data cataloguing processes, and enhance actuarial data marts within the data warehouse.
  • System Optimisation and Diagnostics: Conduct diagnostics to identify and implement system improvements, optimise data storage and processing, and ensure performance and cost efficiency.
  • Data Governance and Compliance: Maintain procedures, documentation, and controls to support information governance, data integrity, privacy, security, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Operational Monitoring and Support: Monitor daily data quality and processes, resolve operational issues, and provide level 3 support for incidents within agreed service levels and standards.
  • Innovation and Technology Research: Research emerging data technologies, recommend and trial innovations relevant to WaterNSW, and integrate new solutions as appropriate.


What we are looking for: 
 

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Computer Science, e.g., Bachelor’s degree in a Management Information Systems, Information Technology/Computer Sciences field
  • Relevant intermediate/advanced Azure Data certifications
  • Strong experience with Azure Data Warehouse.
  • Knowledge of Azure Data Factory (ADF) for setting up data warehouses on Azure.
  • Experience in Agile delivery methodologies.
  • Experience with technologies such as Power Platform, Synapse, Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Purview, Power BI.
  • Experience with modern data pipelines, data streaming, and using real time analytics tools.
  • Expertise in data modelling and ELT/ETL strategies.
  • Current NSW Drivers Licence
