What you’ll do: 

  • Lead end-to-end governance of external-facing data APIs, including registration, documentation, versioning, access control, and deprecation.

 

  • Partner with the Data & AI Platform Engineering team to support technical design and implementation changes for APIs.

 

  • Oversee the delivery of spatial and non-spatial data services to external customers, regulators, and partners.

 

  • Collaborate with Data Engineers, Analysts, and API Platform Engineers to provide secure, reliable, and high-quality data services.

 

  • Maintain a complete and up-to-date inventory of public-facing APIs and develop clear technical and user documentation.

 

  • Participate in formal change management processes to ensure controlled deployment of new or updated APIs and data services.

 


What we are looking for: 
 

  • Demonstrated proficiency in API management platforms, particularly Azure API Management (APIM).

 

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for business stakeholders.

 

  • Experience using data cataloguing tools and supporting spatial data portals.

 

  • Implementing and maintaining secure, well-documented, governed APIs within an enterprise environment.

 

  • Delivering outcomes across complex, multi-stakeholder environments, balancing priorities and expectations.

 

  • Understanding of public sector regulatory, compliance, and policy requirements related to data sharing and spatial information.
