What you’ll do: 

  • Provide high-quality support to WaterNSW and external customers by coordinating data import processes, ensuring system reliability, and assisting users in the effective use of data systems and tools.

 

  • Extract, cleanse, validate and prepare data to meet internal and external data requests, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of information to customers.

 

  • Apply established validation, quality assurance, and control processes to maintain the accuracy, reliability, and completeness of data assets.

 

  • Identify operational issues and improvement opportunities, contributing to enhancements in data processes, systems, and service delivery in collaboration with the Lead Data Service Officer.

 

What we are looking for:  

  • Tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Statistics, Data Analytics, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

 

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including complex formulas, pivot tables, data validation, and automation.

 

  • Working knowledge of data visualisation tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau, or similar) to clearly communicate insights.

 

  • Demonstrated experience in a customer-facing environment, providing clear, timely, and professional support through written and verbal communication.

 

  • Experience producing, analysing, and interpreting operational datasets to support service delivery and performance monitoring.

 

  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical or operational information in concise, plain English.
