WaterNSW is seeking an experienced Lead Commercial & Contracts Adviser (Commercial Manager)
(Full-time, Permanent) to join our Business Services Commercial Management team.

What you’ll do: 

  • Contractual and Commercial Advice: Advise project and portfolio teams on complex contractual matters, including contract interpretation, risk allocation, variations, and dispute resolution to ensure alignment with organisational objectives and legal frameworks.
  • Contract Management and Governance: Oversee the administration and performance of key contracts, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions, performance metrics, and governance standards.
  • Performance Monitoring & Reporting: Work with the Commercial & Contracts Manager to develop and implement commercial performance reporting, analysing data to identify trends, performance risks, and improvement opportunities.
  • Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure mutual understanding of commercial obligations and foster relationships that support successful contract delivery.
  • Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the enhancement of contract management systems, templates, and frameworks to drive consistency, efficiency, and compliance across the business.


What we are looking for: 
 

  • Tertiary bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a commercial or contract-focused environment.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting commercial management activities, including assisting with negotiations and administering contracts throughout the end-to-end contract management lifecycle.
  • Sound knowledge of contract law, commercial risk management, and procurement practices, including tendering, contract negotiation, and administration across the full contract lifecycle.
  • Sound understanding of financial and performance management principles, including cost control, supplier performance, value for money analysis, and compliance with governance frameworks. 
  • Strong stakeholder relationship management, communication, and negotiation skills and experience
  • Current NSW Driver Licence.
  • Desirable: Additional qualifications in construction, contract management, procurement, law and/or professional memberships with RICS / CIPS.
