 (Full-time, Permanent) to join our Safety & Environmental Standards team.

What you’ll do: 

  • Lead and support the development, implementation and continuous improvement of enterprise-wide WHS risk frameworks, leveraging specialist methodologies such as BowTie analysis.
  • Oversee the maintenance and enhancement of the Work Health and Safety Management System, ensuring alignment with ISO 45001:2018, legislative requirements and best-practice safety governance.
  • Promote and support the adoption of safe work practices by developing timely, accessible WHS communications, supporting WHS competency frameworks and contribute to the creation of education and training materials that build capability across the organisation.
  • Oversee compliance activities and act as a primary liaison with regulatory bodies, ensuring WaterNSW meets all statutory obligations and operates in accordance with endorsed management systems, policies and procedures.
  • Provide expert WHS advice, guidance and recommendations to employees, contractors and members of the public interacting with WaterNSW assets, ensuring clear understanding of WHS policies, procedures and system requirements.


What we are looking for: 
 

  • Tertiary Qualifications in Health and/or Safety or relevant experience in a WHS-focused role.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and awareness of WHS Risk Management practices and specialist techniques and their practical application such as BowTie and Risk Appetite Statements.
  • A strong track record of embedding fit-for-purpose safety systems and driving cultural change in complex operational environment
  • Proven experience in negotiation and influencing stakeholders in challenging situations to achieve set organisational objectives in a collaborative and respectful manner.
  • Current NSW Driver Licence.
  • Nice to Have: Demonstrated lead auditor experience, ICAM certified investigator or equivalent and/or exposure to HSE in a high-risk construction or utilities.
