What you’ll do: 

  • Provide expert, practical HSE advice and on-site support to operational managers, field-based employees and contractors, enabling the effective development, implementation and continuous improvement of safety systems, procedures, behaviours and standards.

 

  • Drive a generative, safety-first culture through coaching and engagement, promoting shared ownership, recognition of positive safety behaviours, early hazard identification and proactive risk mitigation.

 

  • Work collaboratively with operational leaders to investigate incidents, conduct risk assessments, monitor trends and ensure timely corrective actions are implemented and sustained.

 

  • Collaborate with Corporate Safety, Operations Performance & Support (OP&S) and Regional teams to analyse safety performance metrics, support consolidated reporting and facilitate “get-to-green” workshops to address risks and opportunities.

 

  • Maintain a consistent on-site presence through regular, scheduled visits, working alongside regional teams to build capability, strengthen relationships and embed safety where the work happens.


What we are looking for: 
 

  • Tertiary qualification in Work Health & Safety or equivalent knowledge gained through significant operational experience.

 

  • Current NSW Driver Licence (Company vehicle provided)

 

  • Demonstrated experience developing, implementing and embedding safety culture programs in operational environments (Construction, Mining sectors advantageous)

 

  • Experience working in high-risk activities such as confined spaces, working at heights and electrical safety.

 

  • Proven ability to coach and influence leaders and teams to drive continuous improvement in WHS performance and cultural change.

 

  • Qualification in Training and Assessment, or equivalent experience delivering safety training and coaching (Desirable not essential).
