Asset Engineering Manager

What you’ll do: 

  • Lead, develop and provide support to a multi-disciplinary team of Asset Engineering Specialists and Reliability Engineering Analysts to ensure the asset portfolio consistently meets corporate reliability targets, statutory obligations and regulatory requirements through fit-for-purpose standards and asset capability validation. 
  • Responsible for driving and supporting the development and maintenance of asset class performance, maintenance and engineering standards, supported by effective compliance assurance frameworks. 
  • Responsible for providing assurance of asset performance, reliability, availability, maintainability and safety through structured operational performance testing, condition assessment oversight, and repeatable performance monitoring practices. 
  • Develop, coordinate and support the implementation of operational performance testing programs for core assets and asset class subsets to routinely validate asset performance and inform condition, reliability and risk-based decisions.
  • Drive and support the optimisation of lifecycle costs, intervention timing and investment decisions through robust reliability and risk-based analysis, including RCM and FMECA.
  • Responsible for building organisational asset knowledge and provide expert engineering leadership across asset planning, design, maintenance, renewal and failure response to support sound, evidence-based decision-making.

What we are looking for:  

  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, or substantial experience and training combined with a related Advanced Diploma, and Eligibility for membership of Engineers Australia. 
  • Demonstrated whole of life asset management experience, including use of analytical techniques such as criticality analysis, quantitative risk assessments, Reliability Centred Maintenance, Root Cause and Fault Tree analysis, Failure Modes Effects Analysis, and condition assessment. 
  • Experience in the establishment, development and leadership of multidisciplinary engineering teams and in successfully driving change and supporting teams in all aspects of the change process 
  • Experience with the development and implementation of asset standards and the application of asset capability performance assessment programs 
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements applicable to WaterNSW’s asset portfolio and applied principles of ISO 55001 
  • Current NSW Drivers Licence.
  • Preferred: Extensive experience working in asset management occupations in a heavy industrial, utility, heavy manufacturing or water industry environments
