WaterNSW is seeking an experienced Catchment Field Officer
 (Full-Time, Permanent) to join our Land & Catchment Operations team.

What you’ll do: 

  • Implement and report on assigned land management/maintenance activities including bush fire management activities 
  • Assist in undertaking prescribed burns and response to wildfires 
  • Communicate operational issues, hazards, non-conformances, WHS and environmental matters to ensure operational and maintenance programs are compliant and implemented effectively
  • Ensure accurate documentation and reporting is available and maintained at all times
  • Participate as a team member in the implementation of regulations and compliance within the legislation available to WaterNSW for catchment and water quality protection, land management and asset
  • Participate in incidents such as bushfires in accordance with the Corporate Incident Management Framework and skill levels 


What we are looking for: 
 

  • Bushfire fighting experience and current NSW Drivers License 
  • Machine experience desirable Positrack/Loader/excavator favourable or willingness to undertake training
  • Experience implementing land management programs including bushfire mitigation and suppression, and/or experience in ground and asset maintenance
  • Experience in the implementation of WHS Systems including site inductions, WHS risk assessments and the ability to implement safety and emergency plans and procedures
  • Knowledge of landscape level bushfire mitigation and suppression desirable
